If you're asking, then I'm down to be up all night. The door was closed but I worked my way inside. If you're sleeping, then I'm up to be down all night. If I can make it, I'll drive. The softness of your cotton mouth was wet at the last drags of a Parliament cigarette. The smoke curling from your eyes, it rises. Your legs like a filter- recessed. The way that you clean your fur as neat as the blood-soaked bird you dropped at my feet. Don't have to crawl on your hands and knees to please me, just lie on my lap and pur. Be sweet, be sweet, show me your hands. I sweat in heat between the sheets. There's nothing between us now. Break down my walls and measure my flaws, but don't leave me alone. Unhinge my jaw so I can swallow all of your skin and your bones. Roll in the mud, I will boil your blood, I will burn your home. Rested are seeds that go unsown. Replace my face, watch me fall from grace, watch me climb on again. Engage my brain, show me pain, have no shame, let me clean off your hands. Hold hands in prayer, let us be right here- this is where the world ends. And let us start here again. If you're asking, then I'm down to be up all night. The door was closed but I worked my way inside. If you're sleeping, then I'm up to be down all night. If I can make it, I'll drive. And then I let out a laugh, or half of one, I had to. And you were lying naked and unselfconscious across your sheets. And in that stunning silence after which I had you, we are the same, I feel your pain, I know your grief. Trap me in snares, unfurl all your sails, let the ocean extend. Grab both my hands, drag me to dry land as if its use to pretend. Hold hands in prayer, let us be right here- this is where the world ends. And let us start here again. Every minute, the whole world is moving and I'm standing still, until you leave me empty and so fulfilled. If you're up to be pursued or pursuing, then I'm satisfied. Your love is pure perfection in my eyes. The bitterest defeat, the sweetest wine. I only get up to fall behind. The bitterest defeat. Every minute, the whole world is moving and I'm standing still, until you leave me empty and so fulfilled. If you're up to be pursued or pursuing, then I'm satisfied. Your love is pure perfection in my eyes.

Stone by stone I built this will. Everybody knows exactly what you've done. Hole by hole I watched it fall. Smoke Signals to the ever expanding sun. Though my bones are growing strong, no backing down from a future we cant outrun. Homes arent built to last so long. Smoke signals to the ever expanding sun. Fly the banner, raise the call. Shout the loudest so they know who's number one. Social media free for all- everybody knows exactly what you've done. The room will spin and start to blur, throw a haze over everything. The world will cease to seem absurd. I'll never forget what you said, though I've been dulled by so many things. In the end we went where we were lead. So it goes, so it goes. Eventually the world will implode. What will you leave behind but your bones. Heaven knows, heaven knows- Eventually the world will implode. Nothings real til it draws to a close. How can we even exist like this- born from revolution and Elvis' hips? I don't mind - the sun's in my eyes every time I go outside. Looking down, I'm surprised to find our cigarettes gone. What if I'd stayed in tonight? Soon we'll see. We've been writing so long we've forgotten how to speak. Go ahead, stare at the screen. We've been staring so long we've forgotten how to see. Self-expression made absurd. Every thought you have is yours to lose. Plagiarize my every word. Every choice you make is yours so choose. Every thought gets off your chest- even now, when there's nowhere real to run. 140 letters or less. Smoke signals to the ever-expanding sun.

Last night I had the strangest sleep. I dreamt that I would never awake for anything. Woke up in the midst of a deep and cleansing laughter; was up all night after. The better portions of my lungs and my conscience are why I sing. The way the sun rises in the east. The way the second summer is always twice as sweet. The dream of birds, and of falling snow. The uncertain nature of infallible strength. I've planted seeds to grow; to rise up through the thunder and the snow. If Leonard Cohen wore a mask, a face to hide his face to hide his shame, what hope have I to ever do the same? As if this meal would ever end. As if each progression progressed naturally. After 13 years I'm right back where I started from. As if it wasn't hard enough to speak. If Leonard Cohen wore a mask, a face to hide his face to hide his shame, what hope have I to ever do the same? In time we'll realize exactly who can count on me, when all these self-indulgent fantasies come true. I'll be laughing behind the mask they made for me at the past I can't escape, as tears roll down the face I show to you.
