It was 2 weeks til Christmas, and all through our town, Christmas spirits were up- but about to come down. In the morning we saw, in each home, on each lawn: all the trees, all the lights, all the snow was all gone. No snow for snowball fights. No snow for snowmen. No trees or Christmas lights or wrapped up gifts below them! A meeting was called in our town on the square to read the strangest of ransom notes that someone found there. "I've taken your trees, your snow and your lights!" signed The Wizard, "You can't stop me, try though you might!" Our town cried out, "What can we do? Where's all our Christmas joy been?" So we resolved to find that evil Wizard and destroy him. No snow for snowball fights. No snow for snowmen. No trees or Christmas lights or wrapped up gifts below them! We loaded the van with our gear late at night to seek out the Wizard, prepared for a fight. We found him asleep in his fortress of stone. Kris plugged in his bass, "Let's see if anyone's home." He pancaked the door slapping riffs tight, but hectic. DJ, as always, had tone that was epic. K: "I'm trying to shred, either comp or stop playing." D: "I know bro, but check out this crazy sustain!" The Wizard woke up in a flash, "Who dares disturb my slumber?! Also, please explain these crazy groupings!" Us: "Andy's the drummer!" No snow for snowball fights. No snow for snowmen. No trees or Christmas lights or wrapped up gifts below them! We stood outside, dumbfounded, wracking our brains. Though Kris shredded away the Wizard felt no pain. The Wizard bore down; there was no time to run. After 15 long years were we finally done? We had to take action or we'd surely be dead. We realized we had to play together instead. So DJ played chords and Kris sang his lyrics; the Wizard winced and fell back from the strength of our Christmas spirit! All we had to do was work together all along. We finished that Wizard off with the riff from "Casino Song!" When we got back home, the sun would soon rise. When we saw it we could hardly contain our surprise. The lights were back up, there was snow on the ground. Christmas spirit had finally returned to our town! Now theres snow for snowball fights. Now there's snow for snowmen. Now there's trees and Christmas lights and wrapped up gifts below them. Christmas would come with plenty of gifts; it's Christmas if there's none at all. It's Christmas as long as you're with your family and friends- that's the meaning after all. Christmas would come without and snow; Christmas would come in a blizzard. It's Christmas as long as you're with your family and friends- and also, we killed a Wizard!

Frozen Water 04:23
Put on my hat and gloves and boots. On the radio "Silent Night" to set the mood. Turned my headlights towards the dunes. My heaters blowing cold. Glue my eyes to the icy road. The treetops bend and fold. It gently falls around me. Snow on snow, snow on ground. The dunes make room for snowflakes to pile up and pack each other down. The winter moon so softly glows. The frozen water doesn't know. Packed my hat and gloves and coat. Drove downtown to walk and watch the dragon boats. Mixed in with the shopping crowd, "I'll be home for Christmas" blaring loud. The harbor's a sea of sound. It gently falls around me. Snow on snow, snow on ground. The ice is nice for skaters but the shoppers go around. Families of footprints dust the floor. The frozen water meets the shore. My spirit's up, snow's falling. Friends and family calling to me and I see it. The air can get cold, put your gloves on I'll hold your hand. It's Christmas and I'm coming home again. Snow on snow, snow on ground. It swirls and twirls a blanket to cover a man with two hometowns. Hills or towers, sand or stone: home will always feel like home.

about

stop.drop.rewind would like to extend a very special thanks and merry Christmas to the following people/groups: Santa, Jesus, the Lohn, Dooley, Crenson, Sutton, and Andrews families, Stephanie Ebsch, Anna Sutton, Kim Mullins (and the Ebsch, Robinson, and Mullins families!), Kelsie Lunsford, and lastly, Roye Robley, for getting in the spirit with us even though it was only September. Without each of you, our holidays wouldn't be nearly as merry!
